Sunday Funday // simple appetizer

Currently I am posted up with my hubby watching Red Zone all day. A lazy Sunday of coffee, pancakes, bacon, and TV.

I made an easy appetizer today that consists of:
Croissant rolls
Bacon
JalapeƱos
& Cream cheese

Simply take your uncooked croissants and add a mini piece of cooked bacon, two slices of jalapeƱos and a tiny spoonful of cream cheese. Wrap your croissants up and bake as directed on the package.

Easy and delicious! Happy Sunday!

Weekend

Weekends are so busy for us! This weekend we had a little more down time than usual. Saturday, my sweet friend Heather, had her baby shower. It's so nice to catch up with old friends. We've known each other since middle school. 13 years! Her shower was so beautiful and the day was gorgeous. Sunday was of course all day football. My dad picked up Jack to take him to breakfast in the morning so TJ and I headed out for a mini date. We grabbed Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Starbucks coffee. I usually cook something for football sunday, but this weekend we picked up fried chicken and headed to my dads.
I ❤ weekends like this!

Keeping it simple // fall decorating

We like to keep decorating simple in our home. Our tiny space does not allow a lot of room for storage, so we keep decorating to a minimum. Here are a few ideas ( and money savers!) to make your home autumn friendly.

- Use your imagination. Go on a crisp stroll through the neighborhood and pick up pine cones. You can place them in bowls around your home. It will be fun for your little ones to help you find them!

- Scented candles. pumpkin, cinnamon, cedar, sandalwood. Light them everyday and fill your house with fall scents. It doesn't even have to be expensive. my favorite scent in the 2.99 candles made by glade. It's so potent and smells amazing. If you want to go the more expensive route, www.candelles.com makes soy, vegan, all natural ones that are the bomb dot com. Cabin getaway, garden frost, pumpkin roll, salted caramel! No, seriously check them out.

- Make homemade wreaths. Use festive colors that you can use all the way through Thanksgiving.Pinterest will solve all of your problems. DIY = save $$
Check it out here!

-Stock your home will cozy blankets and throws. It will make your home feel so cozy and keep you warm during the cool nights.

( you can find these at Target.com. Threshold. )

- Pumpkins everywhere! big ones, little ones, gourds. Put them everywhere. little ones in the bathrooms and on the windowsills. Big ones outside. Decorate them, paint them, or let your child use markers to make their own masterpiece.

-Big comfy socks. enough said. Oh, and terrycloth robes. extra thick!

Sunday Funday // football food

I've come to the conclusion I only cook during football season and it's only on Sunday's. We seem to be so busy during the week that Sunday is the only time we slow down and hang out with family and friends. I made pepperoni pizza bites. It's really simple and you can tweak it to any way you'd like. Use pizza crust as the base (I used pillsbury), and whatever toppings you'd like. I chose:

Pizza sauce
Baby spinach
Grated mozzarella cheese
Pepperoni

Apply all your toppings:

Roll the dough into a log and place on a cookie sheet.

Bake in the oven at 350 for 20 mins

After it has cooled you can cut it into pieces.

Thinking ahead.

I am so ready for fall everything! Pumpkin lattes, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin candles- I WANT IT ALL!
Currently right now I am drinking a pumpkin spice latte. The high will be in the upper 80's today, but I don't care! It's overcast this morning, so for today, I will just pretend! I'm waiting for crisp mornings, hoodie weather, and delicous crock pot soups.

Meanwhile this is me until further notice:

I want to get the most out of fall this year so here's my bucket list:

  • apple picking
  • pumokin patch
  • bake a homemade pie
  • decorate pumpkins with Jack
  • drink starbucks out of PSL's!
  • nature walk
  • go to the fair
  • watch football
  • cook homemade dinners every weekend
Am I missing anything amazing? Any more ideas?

Jack- He had a great first week at PRE-K. We celebrated with Chick-Fil-A and banana splits.

Sunday Funday

Sunday Funday has commenced! Football, cooking, and cocktails! Sadly, this is the only picture I took yesterday:

Buffalo chicken dip, meatballs, and BBQ chicken nachos. {all recipes can be found on Trader Joes website}

Looking forward to many cozy Sunday's when the weather get cooler and the meals get warmer.
