Vacation

North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Our second home. We wait all year for a week off to try and soak up every minute of vacation, which we did.

We:
Ate seafood
Played in the sand
Got tan lines
Jack learned to swim
Found a starfish
Saw an 8 foot tiger shark
Rode rides at the amusement park
Shoped at Barefoot Landing and Broadway At The Beach
Had Starbucks on the beach
Looked for heart shaped seashells
Saw some magic tricks
Watched the sun rise by the pier
Built sandcastles
Buried TJ
Found an pearl in an oyster at Duffy's

We had a blast. We couldn't have asked for a better week.

Sooooo behind! Vacation will do that to you!

Jack- always cleaning, loving the pool, and so brave for conquering his fears of swimming, jumping in, going underwater, and doggy paddling to the deep end (aka 4 feet).

Reminiscing.

There is a video out on you tube of a mother who has just had a c-section. The doctor brings the baby over to the mother's face and is cleaning the baby off. The baby has a tight, gentle grip on the mother and when the doctor tries to take the child away, the baby cries. A true moment of a mother and child bond.

I too had a c-section and I remember the doctors bringing me Jack to hold for the first time. He was screaming. I remember taking him and whispering in his ear, "You are so beautiful, why are you crying?". At that moment he stopped crying and fell asleep in my arms. It was the most beautiful moment, so this video truly made me cry.

Weekends.

Sunday is really the only day for a family day. Every other day TJ is working doubles and I'm getting up at 5:30 a.m. just to get Jack to school by 7, so I can get work work by 7:30. I don't get home until 6:30 p.m. which really sucks because Jack is in bed by 8. Did I mention when I get home that I still have to feed Jack dinner, bathe him, play with him, get outfits together for tomorrow, laundry and dishes. Repeat 5x a week. Waa.

Sunday we were lucky. no laundry, no dishes, no cleaning, no cooking. We had a free day of coffee and breakfast in the morning at one of our favorite spots, Crossroads, followed by shopping in the afternoon.

Hint: guess where we areeee?! My wallet would kill me if I were here by myself!

Jack was so thrilled. Insert sarcasm.

It's nice to have a break from such a hectic week, even if it's for just a few hours.
