Motherhood// pregnancy reflections in my second trimester

It's rather hard to believe I am almost half way through my second pregnancy! Time is flying and I am constantly begging it to slow down. I know this will probably be my last time carrying a little one in my belly and all I want to do is soak in all the little moments. This little one is giving me sweet kicks as we speak, reminding me that in a short amount of time, we will have our family of four.

Reflecting on pregnancy wells up a range of emotions for me. What an awesome responsibility being pregnant is! There is such a calmness with carrying a baby that really makes you slow down and relish every day simplicity. Jack is amazing already. He kisses my bare belly and tells the baby he misses him/her and is excited for summer, since our little firecracker is due in July.

Yesterday I was able to witness little kicks that protruded outside the belly. Our little one was going crazy enough for me to catch that little kick on video. I immediately called tj in from the other room to come see! He came in and put his ear to my belly. Kick. Kick. Kick. How amazing is that? For us to connect and share that sweet expierience together is an amazing memory.

Being pregnant is my absolute favorite thing. Sure I'm tired and have backaches, but carrying a child inside of you- wow. Feeling the first movements, bonding with a growing belly knowing we made something this magical is beyond my comprehension. I'm so thankful and humbled that God chose me to be a mother, again.

Linen spray DIY

I made homemade linen spray today so our sheets can always smell amazing. I chose lavender, because I love the smell. It's scent is used to calm the body. Take a few drops and put it on your bath or humidifier to take the stress away. It amazing! Anyway, back to the linen spray-

Here's what you will need:

1/4 cup alcohol
I teaspoon essential oil (your choice)
3.5 cups of distilled water

Mix the alcohol and essential oil first, stir it up, then add the distilled water. Pour into spray bottle and ta-da! Shake before each use. Heaven in a bottle!

Let's catch up!

Let me catch you up on our lives from this past week:

This past week has had a little bit of everything going on. Jack was sick with a very high fever and cough in the beginning of the week. We managed to get through that with lots of cuddles and caffine. I got to have a breakfast date with my 2 boys last Sunday. And yesterday, TJ and I went out to dinner to celebrate my 29th. What a week!

1. Coffee date
2. Jack trying to lose us
3. A play date
4. Lots of chai tea
5. A sick little babe
6. Making up homework
7&8. A night out for my birthday
